Now TCOS members can benefit even more from new research and ideas AND obtain CE credits - online. TCOS members can find the first webinar in the Members Only section.

The next International Orthoptic Association (IOA) Congress will be in 2020...
Can your society raise a perfect "2020"?

The Canadian Orthoptic Society (TCOS) would like to challenge other national Orthoptic societies to raise $2020 by 2020!

100% of funds collected will go to developing the orthoptic profession in countries where it does not yet exist. Final donation amounts will be presented to the IOA at the 2020 Congress.

TCOS Congratulations

Congratulations to Rebecca Fels (Clinical Vision Science Program, Dalhousie University, Halifax NS) recipient of the 2018 TCOS Scientific Session Award. Rebecca has won the 2018 TCOS Scientific Session Award for her presentation titled "A Novel Use of Optical Coherence Tomography for Assessment of Ocular Torsion". We would like to thank our judges this year, Ann Haver OC(C), Dr. Michael O’Connor and Cathie Day OC(C).

Belva See recipient of the 2018 TCOS Scholarship Award

Congratulations to Belva See , recipient of the 2018 TCOS Scholarship Award. The scholarship committee awarded her the highest mark for her paper titled ‘Game of Therapy - Current Evidence for Binocular Treatment of Amblyopia". Belva is currently enrolled in the orthoptic training program at the Vancouver Orthoptic Teaching Program in Vancouver, BC.

Dominique Salh recipient of the 2017 TCOS Scholarship Award

Congratulations to Dominique Salh, recipient of the 2017 TCOS Scholarship Award. The scholarship committee awarded her the highest mark for her paper titled “Global vs local stereopsis: what it is, how we test for it and why both have roles in the orthoptic assessment of a patient with strabismus and/or amblyopia”.

Dominique is currently enrolled in the orthoptic training program at the IWK Health Centre in Halifax, NS and is pictured here receiving her certificate from Heather Fennell-Al Sayed.

The TCOS Scholarship Award is provided by the generous efforts and financial contributions of the members of The Canadian Orthoptic Society, the Canadian Orthoptic Council and the Canadian Ophthalmological Society.

D Sahl 2018 Academic Achievement Award Winner

Congratulations to Dominique Salh who received the Canadian Orthoptic Society’s (TCOS) 2018 Academic Achievement Award for having the overall highest score on the combined COC certification written, oral and practical examination score.
